February Update

Hey everyone,
Sorry for going quiet there. Several members of the team have been busy moving house and we’ve let the emails and messages build up rather carelessly. We’ll be answering them without further delay. Many thanks to those of you who have completed the survey. :D
If you’ve been experiencing problems with BackerKit or haven’t had an answer to an email, rest assured you won’t have missed out on claiming any rewards.
Here’s what’s been happening since the last update.
- Leth (Risk of Rain, Wanderlust) will be further leaping on to the project once Wanderlust Adventures is released. In the meanwhile he's helping direct us with regards to the code, multiplayer, and general project management. We hope that in the next few months you'll be able to watch some Witchmarsh development and testing live on his Twitch Channel.
- Two new pixel artists have joined: Weston and Luciana!
- We've fallen a little behind schedule, reasons below.
- More than 50 posters were tubed up and dispatched to backers. Many thanks once again to the designer, Oliver Sin, for drowning in tubes and postage labels on our behalf.
- Digital Bestiaries have gone out to PC users, and we're working on the Mac version ready for the next Kickstarter update. Apologies for the delay, mac users! If you've backed for a digital bestiary but haven't received one, please get in touch and we'll fix that right away.
So what have we been working on?
Joe has been busy with the code, and communicating with Leth to ensure everything's multiplayer compliant and optimised. The AI, ranged combat, and team management aspects of the game have proved to be more complicated than we had anticipated. This in turn has had an impact on the rest of the project.
We had hoped that by this point we'd be able to bring you some solid news regarding the date of the first beta test, as well as a new trailer and gameplay footage. But as of next week we should be back on the right path. The artwork is on schedule thanks to the addition of Jamie, Luciana and Weston to the team.
As for Lou and Emelie, they've been designing dungeons, writing the script, researching, and putting weeks of effort into planning the layout and feel of the city.
Weston has been taking their blockouts producing shiny new background artwork. We're pleased to offer you a sneak peek of these now. Please bear in mind that they're still being worked on.
Try to imagine the streets bustling with NPCs going about their daily lives and flying past in sputtering automobiles.
Jamie has been beavering away on some more ability animations. Here's what he's made of Restore, the first major Water + Spirit ability.
And finally pixel artist Luciana has been working on an outdoor/dungeon hybrid zone: The Epicenter.
Thanks for your patience, we'll get back to answering your emails. And we'll also be back some time in March with a full status update.
Best wishes,
Your friends at Inglenook
